My thoughts on International Womens Day – 200 years to go!

Happy International Women’s Day!

I’m on my way to a International Women’s Day lunch. It’s a very significant day for women globally and you can feel there is a real change coming.

But I was reading some information from the World Economic Forum about the gender gap that predicted that it is going to take 200 years to find gender equality! So while we feel like things are changing, we still have a long way to go.

Watch my video update above on my thoughts for the day and also don’t forget to check out my managing partner Sonya Keenan’s facebook update.

For us, this is what International Women’s Day is all about – providing support and championing the women around us.  So tell us, who are you championing and what are your thoughts about International Women’s Day?

We want to hear from you!

As the number of uni/tafe graduates consist of mostly females. 200 years is a bit long. My belief is that this century will see gender equality become the norm.

Deb, you should start vlogging from your car!! It’s entertaining, some scenery to look at, checking out possible rubbish in the car 🙂 ….I have the best conversations in my car (yes, with other people in the car!).
More importantly though: there are still too many men that don’t know how to deal with women and equality. I know the laws have changed in our favour but I don’t see too much of a change in men and no, I’m not being a Debby downer. I thought it was very upsetting that after a few months of #metoo, men started complaining about it. They thought it was enough now, we heard enough of the whining stories…well sorreeeeee to all you men for making it uncomfortable for you and please, don’t let women from all corners of the world who have to deal with this on a daily basis spoil your day!!! If men don’t do a serious upgrade of their software, things will never change, no matter which laws will be in place.
