Though it was a televised to billions of people around the world, the royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was an intimate ceremony of two people very much in love.
In a classic and timeless Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy bridal gown for the ceremony, and a high-neck gown designed by Stella McCartney, Meghan Markle’s style will be admired, discussed and copied for many years to come.
The guests the Royal Wedding didn’t disappoint with their stylish choices of required millinery. Delicate veils were the popular choice and my favs were Victoria Beckham and Lady Kitty Spencer. (see feature image above)
Three official royal wedding portraits of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle by photographer Alexi Lubomriski have been released. The photos were taken at Frogmore House following the carriage procession. The new Duchess of Sussex’s veil has been removed in one of them and her hairstyle changed slightly.
In a special tribute to Princess Diana, the newly-christened Duchess of Sussex paired her Stella McCartney gown with an aquamarine ring from Diana’s personal collection. As the newly married couple left for the evening reception in the 1968 Jaguar to Frogmore House, the ring sparkled on the Duchess’ finger.
This is not the only homage to the Duchess of Sussex’s late mother-in-law, the Princess of Wales. Her engagement ring includes two stones that once belonged to Princess Diana.
A statement accompanying the photo release said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were “delighted” with the photos and wanted to thank everyone who took part in the wedding celebrations on Saturday.
“They feel so lucky to have been able to share their day with all those gathered in Windsor and also all those who watched the wedding on television across the UK, Commonwealth, and around the world,” the statement read.
