An important part of my recipe for balance is de-stressing but I am the world’s worst student of meditation, there is nothing relaxing about being alone inside my head!
Over the years I have learnt that pushing myself through exercise is the key and getting outdoors to do it is even better. In 2001 I discover triathlon – it ticked all the boxes; variety, outdoors and great sense of achievement through a community driven activity.
Now I am the first to admit that I am a Try-athlete, I get great value for my entry because I get to spend a lot of time on the Noosa course 🙂 and this year I will be lining up for my 9th race with a goal of completing my 10th before my 50th birthday in Feb 2017.
To secure my entry this year I signed on with National Breast Cancer Foundation to help them raise money so that they can keep up their important work… It all adds to the community part of this amazing event.
So on the 1st November I will be lining up with about 10,000 other competitors as we all strive to do our own PB’s and at around 11:30 am when I cross that finish line I will be both exhilarated and exhausted at the same time and after a long hot shower I will be straight down to Bistro C for a steak sandwich, glass of Louis Roederer and the biggest plate of hot chips I can find….
If you would like to be apart of my team please donate to NBCF using the link below…. well let you know how I go!
