There are defining moments in life that make you who you are. You might not see it at the time but when we look back, there was always a fork in the road, a choice we made to turn left or right or even just stop and talk to a stranger.
A lot of the time, we make these choices unconsciously but it’s those moments when you seize the day and take a right instead of a left that can be priceless.
Robina Courtin has a fascinating story of defining moments – from being a rebellious teenager to becoming a Buddhist nun and preaching around the world, her life has certainly involved a lot of left hand turns!
My interview with her was reacently featured on the Virgin Inflight entertainment system and was one of those life changing discussions that could help you start looking at the world through a whole different pair of glasses.
Seizing the moment and being open to opportunity has been a big part of my career to date and I’m incredibly lucky and proud that one of those decisions was to share my journey with our Balance by Deborah Hutton community.
Our mission at Balance is to inspire people to make positive changes in their life every day by following their passions. I have always believed that listening to others who have excelled in their chosen field, can be incredibly enlightening.
Lisa’s big decision to leave the Today Show last year echoes the wisdom she previously shared with our community. “I discovered that I should listen to my inner voice. That I should trust myself.”
Katrina Cavanough is an author, speaker, clairvoyant medium, qualified therapist and social worker. She appeared on our televisions in 2011 for an appearance in “The One” and since then has been working online and in the community to help us listen to our inner voice.
Katrina created for us an online learning program to help us “discover our wisdom” and has most recently launched a “Kindness on Purpose” program in schools, encouraging acts of kindness to promote empathy, in a bid to combat bullying in schools.
Dr Dain Heer is the master of self-discovery and reinvention. Our first ever meeting with Dain was a turning point for Balance. Since this initial interview, Dain has become our most popular contributor, created an online learning program.
So if you need some inspiration to take a different path in life, put on your headphones and head over to our Balance podcasts or sign up to our website. This could be the day where you take a left rather than a right!
