Dr Libby Weaver tells how to go from Exhausted to Energised

“How many of us compromise what we really want because we are too tired? We all have intentions of what we want to achieve or experience in a day, a week or a year.  But too often we fall short. Why? The overwhelming response for too many people stems from “I didn’t have the energy.” We focus on just getting through the bare essentials, the must do’s, as we reach for stimulants to fire up and help us push on.”

When I read the back cover of Dr Libby Weaver’s new book “Exhausted to Energized” I knew we had to get her on Balance!  As she explains, our energy reserves are like a bank account. We make deposits to build up our balance and we make withdrawals when we use energy.  For too many people though, they withdraw more than they invest, living their lives in overdraft – not realising they are doing so.  They blame their exhaustion on their jobs, finances, relationships or having to meet the demands of others and don’t realise there are countless ways out of their tiredness.

Sound familiar?  In this clip, Libby explains how we need to understand the road that led our energy depletion, because the road in is the road out.  We need to recognise what let to the fatigue before deciding how to treat it.  Sometimes sadly it’s our relationships or the ‘energy vampires’ in our life.  Could be your iron levels as 20-30% of Australian women are low in iron.  Could be what you’re feeding body.  Or perhaps not exercising.  Whatever it is, as Libby says, “Your body is your most extraordinary mechanism of feedback and it will always give you symptoms to let you know whether it’s happy or not. It’s up to us to work out if it’s saying, ‘I need to eat, drink, move, think, breathe, believe or perceive in a new way.”
