6 mobile apps to simplify your life and add inspiration

When life is relentlessly busy and technology is often more of a drain than a motivator, it’s great to know there are mobile apps that can release me from the humdrum, boost your productivity and give you a lift.

Smartphones have come a long way and I enjoy apps that use the latest tricks without forcing me to spend hours conquering complicated designs or sign up processes.

  1. Houzz

One app that has always kept the inspiration front and centre is Houzz, with now more than fifteen million photos of homes, interiors and gardens. I have also started using the community, asking questions in discussions to help me resolve my own renovation design dilemmas. Try it!

  1. Plant Life Balance

When I first got my hands on Australia’s first virtual greening app, I felt like I had found my happy green place. The app asks Aussies to rate their space, then improve their health score by choosing a look for their room or outdoor area, grabbing a plant list and hitting the nursery.

  1. To Do

To-do lists are remarkably simple devices: A list of chores and errands designed to ensure you don’t forget to pick up the eggs and milk on your way home from work. So why is it so hard to find a to-do app that’s any good? Wunderlist was a popular choice, but fans freaked out when Microsoft acquired the company behind it two years ago. Worry not: Its replacement, simply called “To Do,” is an easy-to-use, beautifully designed to-do app with all-important cross-platform compatibility and helpful deadline reminders.
