We asked Bernard Salt about the changing face of retirement in this country. He says that times have changed in terms of what people want to achieve in their ‘third age’.
“Most Australians start the retirement process from the age of 58…you’re young, you’re fit, you’re healthy. Kids have left home – and you’ve paid off the mortgage. You should have some degree of financial freedom…that’s 20 active years of living,” he said.
